If you have found a pet...
Always use caution when approaching or handling an unfamiliar animal!!
- If the pet is frightened, don't try to approach or chase it. Take photos and note the location. Call animal control as soon as you can (stray dogs only for Clark County).
- If you can get the animal into a fenced area safely, that is helpful.
- Keep in mind that an injured animal is much more likely to bite, even if it seems friendly at first.
- Contact the local animal control. If there are rabies tags on the collar, please note (or photograph) the number, county, and year if possible. If tags are worn/damaged, color and shape are helpful too. This information can many times track down the owner.
